The Journey Begins

Well, the day has arrived for our Renewal Leave Journey to begin. It seems like we’ve been planning this trip for forever. We were all packed & ready the night before… well after I played “Tetris-Master” managing to squeeze twice as many clothes, shoes & personal care products into Dolli’s carry-on suitcase as is humanly possible. I think it weighs more than my checked bag. I asked her how she thought she was going to fit it all in & her reply, “I honestly don’t know, but I’ll look so cute in those shoes!” And with that I managed to squeeze in a half-dozen more things… let’s hope the zipper holds.

They also roll effortlessly. We bought ours in 2016 after our first trip to Europe when we had to maneuver our luggage from one end of a 30-car train to the other because we got on the wrong end. We have checked everything off our to-do list & are ready to go… I guess we’re going whether we completed the list or not. Genoa, Italy here we come via Newark & Munich. After a luxurious overnight snooze on the plane (yeah right!), we’ll arrive in Munich about 7:00 am local time & Genoa about 1:30 pm, which is 6:30 am Eastern time.
