The packing actually started a few weeks ago as we began to pick up incidentals like travel-size toiletries, sunscreen, make-up, etc. Our upstairs bonus room looks like Dolli’s closet exploded. But kudos to her, she has cut her wardrobe for the trip in half twice… although I think that she has snuck a few things back in & added some thrift-store finds. I am only an accessory, so she give thumbs-up or thumbs-down depending on how I coordinate with her choices. It’s quite the challenge packing for 3 weeks on a cruise ship especially when you need workout gear, clothes for excursions in the summer heat, swimsuits for the pool & beach, & evening attire to wear to dinner & a show. Boohoo… first-world probs, I know. Oh, & did I mention the shoes?
It may seem like overkill, but when we’re at home, it’s mostly business-casual for work & lounge wear at night (that’s code for pjs, but it sounds so lazy to slip into your pjs at 6 pm when it’s still light out, doesn’t it?). Dolli enjoys dressing up for dinner & the show every night… I think it makes her feel like a princess & after all what girl doesn’t dream of being a princess. It may seem pretentious, but it makes her happy & you know what they say, “Happy Wife! Happy Life!” We’ve bought some compression bags to shrink our clothes down so that we can get everything in 1 suitcase & a carry-on… we hope! We’ll let you know how that goes.
Just one week until we leave for the first trip during my renewal leave. We’re getting excited! We hope that you’ll follow along & enjoy the journey with Dolli & Chris!
